Why Polished Concrete?
The perfect solution for your concrete needs!
Concrete polishing has become one of the most unique flooring options on the market! This concrete finish has even been mistaken for marble due to how smooth and attractive it appears. No other flooring system can boast the beauty that a polished concrete floor can. Additionally, with the transition to using more green products and solutions, a polished concrete floor can create a natural, low-maintenance surface that’s environmentally-friendly. Most large retail warehouse stores use polished concrete flooring in their buildings thanks to its low maintenance and reflective properties that can lower lighting costs.
Concrete polishing is a multi-step process, depending on the condition of the concrete. The process uses a diamond wheel to polish the concrete to a smooth finish, similar to the process of sanding wood. Each step uses a different grit number to create a get the concrete to the desired smoothness and reflectiveness.

Benefits of Concrete Polishing
Here are some of the various benefits of polished concrete.
- Stain Resistance Polishing concrete flooring transforms a porous concrete surface into a hardened, non-porous surface. This will make it dense enough to prevent water, oil, and other potentially staining contaminants from permeating the concrete’s surface.
- Reflective SurfacePolished concrete is highly reflective. This increased light in your home or business not only makes it easier on your light bill but it will also make your floor more beautiful. From house guests to employees and customers, everyone will be able to see your space more clearly.
- Slip ResistanceDespite the almost glass-like appearance of polished concrete, it actually produces higher friction than ordinary concrete. This means that your polished concrete will be harder to slip on, wet or dry. Through concrete polishing, you’ll be able to make a safer space for your home or business.
- Low MaintenanceMost flooring systems, including plain concrete, need heavy scrubbing to get clean. Oil, paint, and other potentially staining spills will leave lasting damage on other surfaces. Polished concrete doesn’t need this labor-intensive maintenance routine to stay clean. The surface of polished concrete will repel spills and make cleaning easier and faster than ever!
- Increased DurabilityPolishing concrete maximizes the strength of your new, old, or damaged concrete flooring. The process itself improves the abrasion and impact resistance for any concrete surface. Not to mention, polished concrete floors are one of the longest-lasting flooring systems available. When properly maintained, they can last over 20 years!

The Installation Process
We work with you from start to finish
The first step in the process is grinding the concrete. The grinding is performed using varying grits, including 30, 70, and 120. Then, resin pads are used to achieve a smoother surface. The next step is the application of any stains and a densifier. This step is optional, depending on your needs and selected finish. Following the staining or densifier, the concrete will be polished with a 400-grit resin pad.
This is when the shine truly starts to show in the concrete. The concrete will continue to be polished with higher grits, depending on the level of sheen that you desire, from satin to mirror-like. The last step is the use of a burnishing pad to clean up the finished floor and give a little more shine.
